Dr. Derek Potvin

He made the leap into NuSpine after managing his private practice for 10 years. With nearly 25 years of experience, you can expect to see him at our locations in Bressi Ranch, Vista and Oceanside.
He enjoys getting to know the different jobs, sports and hobbies of his patients, which helps him to better understand the underlying causes of their neck and back issues. Dr. Derek, as he’s known by patients, says the most rewarding part about working in healthcare is “seeing the patients progress from their initial visit to how much they improve from our services.”
Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Laurentian University. He eventually earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Science.
Fun fact: Dr. Derek was a hockey player in college!

Dr. Evan Hamilton
Dr. Evan Hamilton brings nearly 10 years of health and wellness experience to NuSpine Chiropractic’s Carlsbad CA location.
Prior to NuSpine Chiropractic, Dr. Hamilton worked as a firefighter and EMT for CAL FIRE (California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection), as well as the dietetic technician for Scripps Health.
When it comes to patients, he enjoys seeing their confidence increase as they begin to feel empowered by their improving health. He was inspired to study chiropractic as a teenager. He always remembered his first chiropractor and his ability to quickly return him to good health, even after injuries.
Dr. Hamilton is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Chiropractic Association, Foundation for Chiropractic Progress, and California Chiropractic Association. He is a Certified Nutritional Consultant from the Natural Healing Institute of Naturopathy, Inc.
A California native, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Foods and Nutrition from San Diego State University where he graduated summa cum laude, an Associate Degree in Science in Applied Nutrition and Kinesiology from MiraCosta College, and his Doctor of Chiropractic from Southern California University of Health Sciences where he also graduated summa cum laude.

I had an amazing experience at NuSpine. From the moment I walked in Susie greeted me with warmth and got my intake done super fast. I have just started coming to Nuspine, and after only 3 sessions i feel so much less tense and more flexible. The whole process of signing up and getting with a chiropractor is so easy. I usually do a walk-in and I never have to wait more than five minutes there are these waterbeds that massage you that are so nice and are really great to use. I am definitely so happy that I came.

Was on an extended visit to the area and it got to the point where I needed to see a chiropractor for care. I was not disappointed with the team at NuSpine Bressi Ranch. Suzy was amazing and answered all my questions and got me on track for my first appointment. On arrival, I checked in and was warmly greeted and walked through the process and was quickly seen by Dr. Evan. I typically have a cadence of every two to four weeks to stay in optimal shape and I had surpassed that leading to some aggravation in my lower back, hip, and cervical. Dr. Evan listened to all my concerns and allowed me to ask as many questions as I needed before we started my first adjustment. Dr. Evan was great and listened to me and how my body was responding. I was able to get in three to four adjustments before I left Carlsbad leaving me in much better shape coming home to my Chiropractor. A nice touch is the heat or cold therapy before and after your visit! A big thank you to Suzy and Dr. Evan and the NuSpine team!
